Canterbury City's current emblem had little connections to the city and the rich heritage it holds, as well as links to the community that supporters and supporters of other clubs would recognise.  Many recent football club rebrands over years have focused on minimalism,  with the sole aim of becoming more marketable. Whilst this was part of this projects aim, the focus was to also make sure that the logo connected with Canterbury more.
